I wore a black pantsuit, with a black silk blouse…black patent leather stilettos and black patent leather doctors bag. I protested silently, yet fashionably. Did you?
News stories on the web in regards to the Jena 6:
Black bloggers helped immensely in making this protest happen. Who would have thought it was possible? (You may need a Chicago Tribune account for this one. Email me and I’ll send it to you if you don’t want to be bothered.)
Even rocker David Bowie was moved to help,
“There is clearly a separate and unequal judicial process going on in the town of Jena,” Bowie said Tuesday in an e-mail statement. “A donation to the Jena Six Legal Defense Fund is my small gesture indicating my belief that a wrongful charge and sentence should be prevented.”
And finally, read what blue erro soul had to say about Jena 6 vs. OJ Simpson. He poignantly points out the randomosity of racism, justice and the law, with a dose of media thrown in for good measure. Reality TV at it’s best.
(On OJ, I think this whole theft thing in Las Vegas was a setup to help sell his book. It’s working. He’s already in his second printing.)
It’s not over yet….but I do hope it’s the beginning of the end.
